Most Ram players are returning from a 13-3 team. 20 of 25, actually, counting both kickers and the long snapper.
Weddle is an upgrade over Joyner.
Kiser is a better run defender than Barron on first 2 downs.
Matthews is an upgrade when either inside or outside when replacing Barron or Ebu. IMO anyway.
Admittedly, Noteboom and Allen are somewhat unproven, although Allen Is probably an upgrade over Sully. Boom may not be a vet Saffold, but he’s no slouch. I’m confident that Boom will be just fine.
So, what’s left? The DL, either NT or DE. And I’m certain that Snead will address this by the end of round 3 at the latest. Whichever position he drafts won’t matter because Brockers will play the other.
Honestly, I’m seeing a likely 13-3 roster here, assuming a good draft. Barring key injuries, I think the Rams have as good a shot to return to the SB as any NFC team.
