So we have been overpaying on one-year deals for guys that we want to take a look at or fill a hole etc.
In the case of Joyner it was a tag, but with Suh and now with Fowler, we are paying a premium to protect against not overpaying long term.
With Joyner and Suh it appears to have saved us, but Fowler will be an interesting case. What if he breaks out and costs even more after this year?
Is it still a good strategy do these one year deals to buy time to replace with cheaper talent (aka Joyner and Weddle)?
Seems we are developing some patterns, we have seen them with comp picks, drafting, etc, Am I reading too much into the one year deal?
