Why do all these articles list Barron as 'a significant hole to fill'

Am I missing something. Was he one of the top ranked inside linebackers in the league the past few seasons? Do these writers know that he was unable to practice at all or participate in preseason games for about 2 years now? Also he was an ILB on a unit that was surpassingly weak against the run. Should we not have made any changes there?
