Yeah, the cumulative effect of picking up a couple (let alone three) extra late 3rds via comp picks every year is incalculable. Especially in the hands of a quality talent evaluator like Snead.

Almost seems unfair, don’t it? Lol.

Every year fans are in angst about plugging holes from high priced veterans being traded, cut or departing via free agency. But the effect of having all of those extra comp picks, and what we've seen the Pat do, is they get ahead of the game.

They are plugging holes before they are holes. IOW, they never get holes.

Snead clearly is trying to replicate that. He referenced that in his interview the other day when discussing the 2018 draft class. They were plugging holes - Kiser, NB, JFM, Allen - the year before knowing vets would be leaving.

My bet is we again draft a bunch of players in 2019 that won't play much this year. And we know what positions. Places where high priced vets are nearing the end of their contracts.
