I think you nailed it. In one sense it's steep. But in another they can not only see for sure what Fowler is, but also if Obo is the guy they hope he is. But the Rams and Fowler must have gauged the market for him as well, and figured that this was the best thing all the way around.
BTW: I still don't think Saffold returns. His price will probably be about the same as Fowler's and that's just too steep. And the Rams have a pretty good idea what they have in Noteboom and Allen.
