I can't say that Ive seen as weak and chaotic of a DB class in years, but I was legitimately shocked at the lack of speed and drilling of many of these kids. I have one first round CB now ... Deandre and Greedy toppled out of the first round for me. And Byron is a late 20s guy.

So here are the CBs ... ugh ...

I'm not really looking for CB until round 4 unless we have more picks. But I will bold the fellas I'm eyeballing. Note: The odds of CB ever being BPA at any moment in this draft is basically Zero.

It hurt listening to Deion bite his tongue all day on how bad these kids did and how their effort and focus was really lacking. Most times, in both groups, Ive ever seen guys have to redo drills.

Derrick Baity Kentucky 6021 197 DNP DNP DNP 10 7.06 38.5 10-7 8 5/8 31 1/2 I'm guessing he injured himself jumping as he didn't run. Great numbers ... I like all 3 Kentucky CBs so having him maybe fall a bit is good for me. Huge numbers for burst. 6th? 7th?

Deandre Baker Georgia 5110 193 4.52 4.53 -- 14 DNP DNP 9-10 9 32 So ... he competes and his tape will likely get him drafted in the first frame. His drills were average. I came away bummed for him. Nothing changed for me with him. I expected this. 2nd round

Corey Ballentine Washburn 5110 196 4.47 4.47 -- 15 6.82 39.5 11-3 9 1/2 31 5/8 Super smooth. One of a couple small school kids who I think made a case for High on day 2 ... you'd want him getting into the lineup slow because of difference in competition, but he can definitely play.

Kris Boyd Texas 5114 201 4.45 4.45 -- 19 6.94 36.5 10-7 9 30 3/4 Tested better than he plays, but I think his best football might be ahead of him. Agreed.

Blace Brown Troy 6003 194 4.75 4.75 -- 14 7.33 DNP 10-6 9 3/4 32 Ouch ... Can't be that slow. Also agree

Jordan Brown South Dakota St. 6003 201 4.51 4.52 -- 13 DNP 39.5 10-8 9 5/8 30 1/2 Other small school kid who will likely be a 2nd or high 3rd. Drilled very well. He is a day 3 kid. Needs time to develop

Sean Bunting Central Michigan 6003 195 4.42 4.43 -- 14 DNP 41.5 10-6 9 5/8 31 3/4 Need to see his tape again with those numbers.

Hamp Cheevers Boston College 5093 169 4.52 4.52 -- 8 6.96 39 10-2 8 5/8 30 1/2 I didn't have notes on this guy? Why? He wasn't as fluid as I would like for his size. Why no notes? He's a small slot CB that doesn't move well. Late round pick

Xavier Crawford Central Michigan 5107 187 4.48 4.48 -- 11 DNP 37.5 DNP 9 29 1/8 Drilled okay. Late rounder.

Davante Davis Texas 6021 202 4.57 4.58 -- 14 6.76 37 10-5 9 3/4 31 3/8 I'm going to ask this about 10 times ... "Can he play safety?"

Jamel Dean Auburn 6010 206 4.30 4.31 -- 16 7.02 41 10-10 9 1/8 31 3/4 Has to be in the right scheme because he doesn't turn well. Ran better then I thought, He's a competitor. middle rounds I would guess

Rashad Fenton South Carolina 5110 193 4.52 4.53 -- 12 DNP 34 9-9 8 3/4 30 3/8 Gamer. Might be really underrated. 6th?

Mark Fields Clemson 5097 192 4.37 4.37 -- 18 DNP DNP DNP 9 1/8 30 1/2 Had the best day of any CB ... IMO culd sneak into the first round as a result. He was head and shoulders above the others in my opinion. If he sneaks into day 2 I would be shocked at his size

Montre Hartage Northwestern 5113 190 4.68 4.69 -- 9 6.95 34.5 10-3 9 31 3/4 "Can he play Safety?" That's slow for a safety though, dang.

Alijah Holder Stanford 6006 191 4.60 4.61 -- 9 6.70 36 10-1 9 1/2 32 1/2 See above.

Mike Jackson Miami 6005 210 4.45 4.46 -- 13 7.12 40.5 10-10 9 3/4 32 1/2 This one is an enigma. We have great speed, low agility. We have some tape that's excellent and some hot trash to go along with it. My "guess" is that a small group of teams have him rated as a second rounder and most have him as a 4th or 5th. 7.0 is my 3 cone "beware" #. Im in that 4th to 5th round group of teams, but I love his size

Isaiah Johnson Houston 6021 208 4.40 4.40 -- DNP 6.81 36.5 11-1 8 3/4 33 Could crawl into the first. Raw from being an ex WR ... lots of upside. Still a day 3 guy for me, too much risk before that.

Lonnie Johnson Kentucky 6017 213 4.52 4.52 -- 15 7.01 38 10-9 9 1/8 32 5/8 I thought he was okay to cover big WRs ... and from what Im seeing that's the style he is. He was smoother than I thought. If he lasts till the 4th (doubt it) I'd consider him, though it's unlikely he would be BPA. He'll be there in the 4th

Justin Layne Michigan St. 6016 192 4.51 4.51 -- DNP 6.90 37.5 11-2 9 1/4 33 Had a great day. Really jumped for me after a weird set of years for Michigan State's defense (as Narduzi is in Pitt now) ... If he makes the 4th or 5th I'm thinking about it. I think he is a 3rd to 4th round guy. Converted WR that I thought was under rated

Iman Lewis-Marshall USC 6005 207 4.53 4.54 -- 16 DNP DNP DNP 9 1/2 30 3/8 Lacks fluidity and balance. Want him at Safety. That said Im interested.

David Long Michigan 5105 196 4.45 4.46 -- 15 6.45 39.5 10-0 9 5/8 30 7/8 Was not expecting those numbers. His tape is not that impressive. Maybe I missed something? Anyone see something I didn't? 4th round press man corner. He is fine as long as he gets his hands on you. I like him.

Julian Love Notre Dame 5106 195 4.54 4.54 -- 14 6.72 36 10-1 9 31 3/4 Love has fallen during the year but I thought he had a good day. Not that he has a shot at the fourth, but Im eyeballing him. 2nd to early 3rd I would guess, another physical corner.

Jordan Miller Washington 6005 186 4.49 4.49 -- 6 DNP 37 10-5 9 5/8 32 7/8 I watched him all year, as he was the guy QBs threw at to stay away from Murphy. I think he got better during the year under the pressure, and as a result I think his best football is ahead of him. Target 6th round, could be a steal.

Trayvon Mullen Clemson 6014 199 4.46 4.46 -- DNP DNP 34.5 10-3 9 1/8 31 Shouldn't get out of the 2nd, could creep into the first. Good day, good #s. Solid 2nd round

Byron Murphy Washington 6017 185 4.55 4.55 -- 14 DNP 36.5 10-0 9 1/4 31 1/2 Only for sure 1st rounder and not a top 20 pick IMO. He and fields tie for "best feet" award. Still my top CB.

Amani Oruwariye Penn St. 6015 205 4.47 4.48 -- 17 6.82 36.5 10-0 9 31 3/8 Great day. I have him floating around in round 2 now. yeah, he's a 2nd rounder

Jamal Peters Mississippi St. 6016 218 4.63 4.63 -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 3/4 32 3/8 Wanna play Safety?

Ryan Pulley Arkansas 5105 209 4.61 4.62 -- 11 DNP 31 9-3 9 1/4 32 3/4 Wanna play Safety?

Kendall Sheffield Ohio St. 5113 193 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 1/4 31 1/2 pulled pectoral and couldn't go.

Saivion Smith Alabama 6007 199 DNP DNP DNP 11 7.09 33 10-1 9 1/2 33 1/4 Clumsy. Not interested. neither am I

Derrek Thomas Baylor 6027 189 4.44 4.45 -- 8 DNP 39.5 10-11 10 33 /34 I have a Baylor game need to watch for this guy and Jalen Hurd.

Ken Webster Mississippi 5107 203 4.43 4.43 -- 18 6.85 43 11-1 8 7/8 32 He is a "little" tight, but he still gets to where he's going when he changes directions. I had him higher coming into this year and dropped him a bit. Memory does not serve as to why. I need to look that up. still recovering from knee injury, and never regained his on field speed. Just looked slow.

Greedy Williams LSU 6017 185 4.37 4.38 -- DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 1/4 31 1/2 First time in a long time a CB comes in top 15 for me, runs really well, and then blows the drills (the ones he did before giving up). Buyer beware. I loved him early this season, but he just cot sloppier and sloppier, refuses to tackle, but man that upside...

Joejuan Williams Vanderbilt 6035 211 4.64 4.65 -- 17 DNP DNP DNP 9 3/4 32 1/2 Wanna play Safety? I'll add a "really smooth in transition."

Rock Ya-Sin Temple 5116 192 4.51 4.52 -- 18 7.31 39.5 10-0 9 7/8 32 He has some special skills and might be a first rounder, but he was pretty clunky and the 7.31 3 cone is a big red flag. 3rd round IMO
