His cap hit for the team acquiring him is 1.28 million

Most of his current cap hit is the prorated part of his signing bonus. He would be a cheap backup. When asked would he want to come in as a backup, the answer is no but he has no say in if he is traded. His attitude about being a backup and how that affects how he is on the team is another issue though.
