This group was unreal.
I want a first round edge player. I want to put that position to bed. Note ... Ferrell didn't run and Bryant didn't do anything, Im guessing he was injured. But that was a bummer.
I am also looking for late ST guys that could develop in case Obo can't get it together.
DE
Zach Allen Boston College 6041 281 5.00 4.95 -- 24 7.34 32 9-4 10 1/8 34 3/4 so, think a slow Chris Long. 3-4 in college who should be a beast at 4-3 DE in the pros. Agree once again
Ben Banogu TCU 6034 250 4.62 4.58 1.56 23 7.02 40 11-2 9 33 5/8 Tests out of the building but is unlikely to get the same sack totals or run defense unless he works on hand technique. Give him some time to develop into a 34 edge, he could be a rotational player
Nick Bosa Ohio St. 6036 266 4.79 4.79 1.60 29 7.10 33.5 9-8 10 3/4 33 Really smooth, tested better than Joey. Can't miss prospect. I'm sad he's likely going to a rival. He's a 9er for sure if Murray goes 1st. Thats not great news.
Jordan Brailford Oklahoma St. 6025 252 4.65 4.66 1.62 22 DNP 37.5 10-6 9 1/8 32 1/2 Okay ... I don't know how many clubs are seeing what I'm seeing. At OKst. they moved him around mercilessly because of his athleticism, from DT to the slot. But at the East West game, he was unstoppable just playing DE. I think he's horrifically underrated. Im looking at him as early as the fourth regardless of what we have taken so far. one of the most under rated plsyers in the draft. I wonder what his medicals will do to him.
Austin Bryant Clemson 6037 271 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 9 5/8 34 5/8 Not thinking about him till the 3rd now ... He is a 43 end so Im not thinking about him at all. But he is a 3rd round guy.
Brian Burns Florida St. 6046 249 4.53 4.56 1.61 DNP 7.01 36 10-9 10 33 7/8 No shot he makes it to us at 31 now. Likely top 15. Movement skills and testing were lights out. All I needed to see was his weight, He got to 250 so yeah, he's top 20 now.
Malik Carney North Carolina 6020 251 4.73 4.70 1.68 25 7.40 33 9-5 9 7/8 33 3/8 Sneaky good player who may be had reallllly late. Like 7th round late.
L.J. Collier TCU 6022 283 4.91 4.85 1.75 25 7.71 30 9-10 10 34 Will make a good 4-3 end. William Hayes comp.
John Cominsky Charleston 6052 286 4.69 4.66 -- 22 7.03 33.5 9-8 9 3/4 33 1/2 Really tested well, should get a shot at 4-3 end and could be a steal.
Maxx Crosby Eastern Michigan 6047 255 4.66 4.64 1.60 DNP 6.89 36 10-2 9 3/4 32 7/8 I saw him play as thought, man he looks great but odds are he's not that athletic ... lol. So ... where does he go? He's on my radar 6th or after as a great deal.
Jamal Davis Akron 6031 243 4.60 4.65 1.58 19 7.00 39 10-2 9 1/4 34 1/4 I can't ignore his numbers, and will look for him late. He moved like a pure LB in drills.
Clelin Ferrell Clemson 6043 264 DNP DNP DNP 25 7.26 DNP DNP 10 1/2 34 1/8 Smooth, but it won't matter he'll be gone. Yeah, he's gone by 20.
Rashan Gary Michigan 6043 277 4.58 4.59 1.63 26 7.26 38 10-0 9 5/8 34 1/8 WOW. I could literally see him playing OLB in a 3-4. That's how well he moved. He is DE in a even or odd front and will be long gone by 31
Carl Granderson Wyoming 6046 254 4.79 4.80 1.71 DNP 7.44 35 9-11 9 5/8 34 4-3 rotational end. Moved well but was a lesser athlete in this crazy class. Agreed
Gerri Green Mississippi St. 6040 252 4.63 4.64 1.66 24 7.27 35 9-6 10 33 Moves like a LB, could be a steal in a 3-4 scheme where he could move around.
Joe Jackson Miami 6042 275 DNP DNP DNP 22 DNP 27 9-1 10 34 1/8 No burst, average movement skills at best. Hard to draft him. He's a base end in a 43
CeCe Jefferson Florida 6014 266 5.02 5.03 1.73 17 7.50 30.5 9-0 9 5/8 33 5/8 Basically undraftable at 5.0 ... moved slow too.
Jalen Jelks Oregon 6053 256 4.92 4.93 1.70 19 7.22 32.5 9-5 9 5/8 34 5/8 Basically made himself undraftable with those times. On top of a bad weekend, he is too soft for my taste
Jonathan Ledbetter Georgia 6036 280 5.14 5.15 1.81 22 DNP 26.5 9-0 9 7/8 34 1/2 Man he's slow. But he's really good so find a spot for him and draft him late.
Shareef Miller Penn St. 6044 254 4.69 4.70 1.64 16 DNP 29.5 DNP 10 1/8 33 5/8 tested better than he played, rotational DE in a 4-3. I actually like him as a 34 edge.
Anthony Nelson Iowa 6070 271 4.82 4.82 1.65 18 6.95 35.5 9-10 9 7/8 34 7/8 Really smooth ... base end in a 4-3.
Charles Omenihu Texas 6053 280 4.92 4.93 1.71 DNP 7.48 36.5 9-7 9 3/8 36 Stiff and slow, but the 1.71 shows how he got to the QB. I think he is a solid 2nd round DE.
Jachai Polite Florida 6025 258 4.84 4.84 1.71 DNP DNP 32 DNP 9 3/4 32 5/8 I dropped him a bit. Thought he'd be way more explosive and smooth. He had a bad week. I don't trust him.
Wyatt Ray Boston College 6032 257 4.83 4.84 1.68 25 7.34 34 9-10 9 3/8 32 1/2 Smooth but not all that fast or twitchy ...
Sutton Smith Northern Illinois 6003 233 4.69 4.70 1.72 25 6.75 31.5 9-10 9 30 3/4 So this guy is an effort freak ... Ive watched him a few years. The number you want to focus on here is the 6.75 3 cone. His change of direction on the way to the QB is crazy. Think of Rudy ... Unlikely to get drafted but could contribute on ST and situational rushing. I think he does get drafted. We will have to watch for him on day 3
Montez Sweat Mississippi St. 6056 260 4.41 4.42 1.55 21 7.00 36 10-5 10 1/2 35 3/4 So ... yeah he'll go top 10 now. sigh, yeah you are right
Chase Winovich Michigan 6026 256 4.59 4.60 1.57 18 6.94 30.5 9-8 10 32 3/4 Now my target at 31. If we can trade down and get him? Great. 1.57 split? 6.94 3 cone? He looks stiff, but he doesn't seem to be slowed by it. And beyond testing well he's about as high motor as it gets. Im in for this kid as our first pick. His upside is Clay Matthews. His floor is Connor Barwin in his prime. I'd trade down for this guy all day long.
Oshane Ximines Old Dominion 6034 253 4.78 4.79 1.72 24 7.13 34 9-10 9 7/8 33 Got overwhelmed at the senior bowl and wasntt athletically superior, could slide to the late rounds IMO. I think he settles into the 3rd to 4th round area. He will take a little time, but his film was legit.
Thoughts and comments and questions welcome.
