Blinkscout Combine Offense breakdown ... 3 parts.

March 02, 2019 04:03PM
I am mainly focused this year on OG and TE ... but I eyeballed the QBs for a backup. Lots of backups.

I think the interior linemen and TEs are really high quality this year, so that's fortunate for us. The OTs all have question marks so Im glad that's not us this year. I'll mainly do the Interior guys in bold. im taking out guys with DNPs on drills. NOTE the 3 cone drill times .... really good for interior linemen. If you notice, many IL have better 3 cones than the OTs.

IL
Paul Adams Missouri 6057 317 5.18 5.19 1.83 16 7.68 27 8-7 10 33 1/2

Jackson Barton Utah 6072 310 5.18 5.18 1.82 25 7.85 27 9-1 9 1/4 34 Does not look the part.

Ryan Bates Penn St. 6044 306 5.09 5.02 1.70 28 7.45 27 8-6 9 1/2 32 1/2 Another OT that could be a special player at OG. No idea where he falls, my guess is higher than I'd normally think. Look at that 3 cone and 10 yard split.
Beau Benzschawel Wisconsin 6062 309 5.24 5.26 1.88 20 DNP DNP DNP 9 5/8 33 3/8 Again, a great athlete like Deiter. Grab them late if they drop.
Garrett Bradbury N.C. State 6027 306 4.92 4.93 1.74 34 7.41 31 8-8 10 1/2 31 3/4 He'll go with Williams in the first.

Yodny Cajuste West Virginia 6047 312 DNP DNP DNP 32 DNP DNP DNP 10 34

Shaq Calhoun Mississippi St. 6024 310 5.07 5.08 1.72 26 7.46 28.5 8-9 10 33 1/8 This guy has looked good to me his whole career, and I thought nailed the combine, so I have him as a second rounder right now and I haven't seen him that high anywhere else.

Dennis Daley South Carolina 6050 317 5.23 5.24 1.85 20 7.95 26.5 8-7 9 1/2 33 3/8

Nate Davis North Carolina Charlotte 6032 316 5.23 5.24 1.84 23 7.94 26 8-11 9 1/2 33 1/8 People are diggin on Nate, so I think he'll be overdrafted a bit.
Michael Deiter Wisconsin 6051 309 5.23 5.23 1.81 21 7.88 28 8-9 10 3/4 33 1/8 better athlete than most would think for the numbers, really smooth. A guy like this in the 6th?Great Value.

Andre Dillard Washington St. 6050 315 4.96 4.97 1.69 24 7.44 29 9-10 10 33 1/2 Should be first OT off the board. Likely won't be.
Chuma Edoga USC 6034 308 5.19 5.20 1.78 21 DNP DNP DNP 9 5/8 34 3/4
David Edwards Wisconsin 6062 308 5.28 5.28 1.80 DNP 7.69 25.5 8-3 9 3/4 33 3/8

Bobby Evans Oklahoma 6043 312 5.20 5.21 1.86 22 DNP DNP DNP 9 7/8 34 3/4
Cody Ford Oklahoma 6036 329 5.21 5.21 1.81 19 8.27 28.5 8-8 9 3/4 34 Best at the combine of the OK kids.
Hjalte Froholdt Arkansas 6045 306 5.20 5.20 1.83 31 7.51 27.5 8-9 9 3/4 31 1/4 Swedish kid? Needs developing.
Lamont Gaillard Georgia 6025 305 DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP DNP 10 3/8 33 1/2 High quality for a late round value.

Derwin Gray Maryland 6044 320 -- 5.26 1.85 26 DNP DNP 7-6 9 5/8 34 3/8

Phil Haynes Wake Forest 6035 322 5.20 5.20 1.79 33 7.76 31 9-0 9 1/2 33 1/2 He jumped out a bit and rose for me ... just solid across the board.
Nate Herbig Stanford 6034 335 5.41 5.42 1.86 29 8.15 24 7-6 10 1/8 32 3/8 A little stiff, but heavy handed and may not even get drafted.

Tytus Howard Alabama St. 6050 322 5.05 5.05 1.81 21 8.34 29.5 8-7 10 5/8 34
Mitch Hyatt Clemson 6053 303 DNP DNP DNP 28 7.72 25.5 8-6 10 1/4 34 1/8

Andre James UCLA 6041 299 5.32 5.32 1.85 21 8.00 29 8-9 10 32 Another guy that could go undrafted that is a solid player ...
Elgton Jenkins Mississippi St. 6044 310 DNP DNP DNP 29 7.77 28 9-1 10 1/4 34 2nd round guy that could drop ... one extra thing you couldn't see here is that he mauls people.
Devon Johnson Ferris St. 6072 338 5.16 5.13 1.81 26 8.34 27.5 8-5 9 1/2 34 3/4 Needs a year but could have a huge upside.

Tyler Jones N.C. State 6030 306 DNP DNP DNP 23 7.75 31.5 9-3 9 3/4 33 3/4 This guy really jumped for me. Im finally seeing NCstate linemen not being overlooked. I loved Thuney coming out. OLTs sliding inside ...
Mike Jordan Ohio St. 6057 312 5.27 5.28 1.86 19 7.71 32.5 9-8 10 34 1/4 This is complex. Ive followed him since his freshman year, and I wanted him to be more "put together" in year 3 so I dropped him this year after expecting him to be best in class. Andrus Peat type, though, so he has value.
Chris Lindstrom Boston College 6036 308 4.91 4.92 1.70 25 7.61 30.5 9-9 9 1/2 34 1/8 Late first guy. Football IQ and great movement skills.

Greg Little Mississippi 6052 310 5.33 5.34 1.84 DNP DNP 25 9-5 10 1/4 35 1/4

Erik McCoy Texas A&M 6037 303 4.89 4.90 1.72 29 8.28 31 8-11 9 5/8 33 Late first guy. Had a great day. A little tight (note the 3 cone)

Kaleb McGary Washington 6071 317 5.05 5.06 1.83 23 7.66 33.5 9-3 10 1/8 32 7/8

Connor McGovern Penn St. 6053 308 DNP DNP DNP 28 7.66 DNP 9-4 9 7/8 34 1/8 Late first rounder, another ... there are like 8 guys here for me
Joshua Miles Morgan St. 6050 314 5.32 5.33 1.85 DNP 8.07 36 9-1 10 3/4 35 5/8 Again, has the arms of a tackle and could likely play the right side in a pinch.

Yosh Nijman Virginia Tech 6067 324 DNP DNP DNP 27 8.07 DNP 9-6 10 34

Sua Opeta Weber St. 6042 301 5.02 5.03 1.66 39 8.06 33 9-4 9 7/8 33 1/4 Um, who is this guy? He did something I hadn't even seen before in the drill where you start lying down ... he literally popped up with one elbow ... threw his entire 310 pound body up like he was a ninja. That's when he caught my attention. I think he may need some upper body loosening, but Im very curious where he shows up now in the supposed grading.
Javon Patterson Mississippi 6027 307 5.13 5.13 1.78 27 7.72 27.5 8-2 9 32 1/2 Normally this guy is a late second early third talent ... may last till the 6th.
Ross Pierschbacher Alabama 6035 307 5.20 5.21 1.85 20 7.83 22.5 DNP 10 32 1/8 Not as athletic as I would like, but a professional who should be drafted and make a team.

Trey Pipkins Sioux Falls 6061 309 5.12 5.12 1.75 16 7.61 33.5 9-6 9 5/8 33 7/8

Ben Powers Oklahoma 6040 307 DNP DNP DNP 21 DNP DNP DNP 9 7/8 33 3/4 Powers wasn't out there but he was my favorite in the senior bowl practice one on ones. Another guy that is top 50 quality.

Isaiah Prince Ohio St. 6064 305 5.09 5.09 1.77 23 7.90 27 9-7 10 1/8 35 1/2 Long arms ... needs lower body strength ... moved better than I expected.

Dalton Risner Kansas St. 6046 312 5.30 5.31 1.93 23 7.69 28.5 9-2 10 1/4 34 This is another first round borderline talent ...

Tyler Roemer San Diego St. 6063 312 5.21 5.21 1.78 18 7.75 30.5 9-0 10 1/4 33 7/8

Dru Samia Oklahoma 6046 305 5.29 5.30 1.84 28 7.89 27.5 8-5 10 1/8 33 These guys, OK kids, are mean. So I would consider them at any point late.

William Sweet North Carolina 6060 313 5.27 5.27 1.85 23 8.01 30.5 9-3 10 1/8 34 3/8

Jawaan Taylor Florida 6050 312 DNP DNP DNP 24 DNP DNP DNP 10 35 1/8 My guess first OT off the board even though Dillard should be.

Oli Udoh Elon 6054 323 5.05 5.05 1.85 26 7.88 28.5 8-9 10 35 3/8 I think this guy could play both OG positions and in a pinch play ORT. He has good feet.
Jonah Williams Alabama 6044 302 5.12 5.10 1.77 23 8.01 28 8-4 10 1/8 33 5/8 This guy reminds me of Zach Martin good tackle, pro bowl OG.

Best IL class Ive seen. In fact there are guys who didn't get invited I have as draftable so there should be talent during and after the draft.

Ill split up the groups ... Thoughts and comments welcome. I'll do TE next.
