I think 'BOOM's ready and would allow us to trade for a Defensive VET(so as not to count against the comp formula)...
and use the money there.

Also, IF...I mean a big IF, Allen could effectively take over for Sully that would save us another 5-6m/yr and allow for more defensive additions. imo

Odds are very good that Saffold will get a deal much more in keeping with veteran OGs who are on their 3rd or 4th contracts. Those guys have been in the 8-11 M range.

Norwell was up for his 2nd contract. That market is different.
