but the dot connecting is wild. Will the Rams move on from Goff? Probably not but I don't think it's that radical of an idea. Or, I didn't until recently. I'm worried about McVay's system at this point as it has failed to really produce since KC. Until now, I've been of the opinion that McVay could take any starting caliber QB and have success so re-signing Goff to an astronomical deal wasn't necessary for the Rams.
It isn't necessary but having a young/rookie QB on his first deal does give a team an opportunity to build up the rest of the team. All in all, not a horrible approach. Now, if one considers Goff irreplaceable then that idea wouldn't work.
Goff needs to bounce back though because if his 2019 continue like his 2018 has been going, this will become more of a real question.
