But the fundamentals are in place, I think.
I need a little time to reset to FA and draft mode, but I do have a couple of general thoughts.
O will get minor attention this offseason.
Backup QB
Decision on CJ or Malcolm Brown, or ???
Probably some OL depth brought in. This SB was a real eye opener.
Saffold extended
Maybe a TE brought in in the mid-round range (sorry je)
D is gonna get the lions share of offseason attention, playoffs performance notwithstanding.
I’m sticking with my prediction of 4-6 new starters on D next year.
Suh gone
Ebu stays but is replaced as starter
Barron gone
Joyner gone
I think that these 4 changes are virtually inevitable, 3 because of cap issues, alone. Fowler might be gone if he asks too much and Brockers might be asked to take a pay cut or be traded. Peters has little trade value, but he just might be beat out by a drafted CB taken high.
Gonna be interesting to see how the Rams approach FA. Will they see sufficient bang for their buck with Fowler, Brockers, Barron, and Peters? Could go either way on each player. Depends on what FA’s might be available on the market, too.
Bottom line for me is that big turnover on D is expected.
