I looked it up and the past 10 Super Bowl losers won an average of 1.9 fewer games the next season. Not as bad as I thought it would be. And half of those 19 more losses were by the Panthers going from 15-1 to 6-10. Now the only one of those ten that returned to the Super Bowl the following season was this Patriots team. But 6 won their division again the following year and 9 of 10 (all but the Panthers) made the playoffs the next year.
Super Bowl hangover? Maybe.. Rams have been very fortunate health-wise for the past 2 years. Will that continue to a 3rd? Will the division be tougher in 2019? With Garoppolo back it could.
13 wins will be hard to repeat. It could happen though. But so could 12 or 11 or 10. But the long-term prospects for this team are all pointed in the right direction.
