Hey, man, first of all, I getcha. Nice things just don't happen to the Rams, right? At least, not except once in a blue moon. Was the moon blue the other night? I don't think so, but who knows.
So, starting with the fact that I get where you're coming from, let me just tell you were I'm at.
I'm so danged proud of these guys I'm completely at peace with whatever happens on Sunday.
OF COURSE I want to win. Very much so. But if they don't... I'm already just in a place mentally where it's not going to dampen my pride and enthusiasm for the 2018 football Rams. They already won a Championship (conference, not NFL) in a way beyond words to describe it... gutsy, filled with brotherly sacrifice and perseverance. The emotions I had that night... I'm just not going to let any Super Bowl loss take those positive feelings away from me. Not gonna happen.
And since that's where I'm at... I can just enjoy this game. I'm going to my brother's house (haven't had many opportunities to see him for years). There will be a party with other people there (most of them Packer fans, probably). And it's going to be all good. Win or lose. I'm just going to enjoy seeing the end of the journey, and I'm going to always be proud of the way these guys played this year.
And on top of all that... next year... watch out! Goff with more experience. McVay with more head coaching experience. Cooper Kupp back with Cooks and Woods. We could very well be right back in this spot next February, too.
As for how we match up against the Pats... you can drive yourself crazy with that stuff. We were supposed to match up poorly against the Cowboys, but we know how that turned out. Someone here said it pretty succinctly: the Patriots are not better than the best team we've beaten all year. They aren't. So, frankly, who knows what will happen but we definitely are not outmatched.

As someone who's been a Ram fan since 1968, you would think I'd be feeling really good about this Super Bowl. Unfortunately, I just can't get there. The Patriots strengths are pitted against our major weakness (Run game vs run defense). Super Bowl experience vs inexperience, penalties called and uncalled, turnovers, etc...all will play a big part in this game. The only advantage I see for the Rams is the playing surface, where their speed will take advantage of that. As much as I appreciate McVay, I don't see him out-coaching Belichick here. If the Rams do win, then McVay will be THE STORY, and not the Rams players themselves.
Okay, feel free to trash this post, but I'm just giving you my gut feeling.
