I'm sorry I had the impression that Groh was more involved with coaching the receivers .
Re-watch the hard knocks training camp and you'll see it as I recall.
He doesn't say much and his most memorable moments come when the Rams receivers drop passes in red zones .
He slams head sets in booth.
He should have been more meaningful but he apparently either wasn't that dynamic or wasn't given much authority.
The fact he hooked up with Eagles means he kept some status , and was available.
I question how good he actually is.
Frank Riech obviously was bigger on the Eagles staff and as a coach.
Boras didn't coordinate the passing game. That was Groh. Same as now, with the running game--Kromer does not simply coach the OL, he coordinates the running game.
Reich is an older guy (57) with a longer resume and when he left Groh was promoted. In fact Groh is a younger coordinator now (age 35) than Martz was when he got his first coordinator gig (at 48).
And I wouldn't expect Hard Knocks to show a game-planning session where the passing game coordinator does his gig. So I am not sure I would simply trust what you saw on Hard Knocks as the final word on this story.
