Nice post, leaf. As usual.
Two things...
First, Goff’s follow through fake on that Reynolds sweep was superb. Even deceiving when watching reruns. Can’t overstate the importance of that part of his emerging game.
Second, as I watch this team I become more and more convinced that Sag and stlramz are onto something about this Destiny thing. How else to explain so many things?
Littleton replacing Ogletree with a vengeance
Blythe’s emergence (who saw that coming)
The CJ acquisition and results
Losing Kupp only to see Reynolds step up
The surging Higbee and Everett
The inspirational Whit
Suh and Brokers getting “woke”
Fowler coming in at mid season to make play after play
The Talib drama missing 8 games, then returning to settle down our struggling D
The Peters rollercoaster of drama
Watching JJ become a stud at safety (okay, an even bigger stud)
The GZ rollercoaster from healthy to hurt to healthy to NFCC 57 yard game winner
Hekker and his heroics
And probably most of all is AD. The man put up an All World season even by his lofty standards. Kept us in the hunt during some close games.
All under the influence of a fairy tale trio of Demoff, Snead, and McVay. Those 3, alone, are a lot of Destiny.
This season is not quite over, of course. But I’ve gotta say that so far it sure seems like there is an unseen guiding force nudging this team along at critical points. Can we call that Destiny? I think maybe we can. Lol.
