Nothing is final until the final horn sounds..

Look as Rams fans we know what happened. If the Saints had just run the ball in that situation they would have drained time off the clock. It never gets down to one play, and the Saints still had chances to win. And so on.

That's not going to be the narrative though. You get a decisive controversial call at the end of a big game, and, you can bet it drives how people see that game. It's inevitable. (Truth is reverse that situation and have it happen to the Rams and most of us would feel the same way Saints fans do now.)

So I don't fight it. What I think will happen is that eventually the McVay Rams will accomplish so much that the non-call just won't mean as much to people.
My advice it to just admit that the Rams were given a gift and it's not the most desirable way to win, all we can do is take advantage of it.

As much as some might criticize Payton for not running once the two minute warning hit, I think the reality is that it was a good approach and call, just bad execution by Brees. The Saints drove right down the field by passing 4 out of 5 times and wanted to get a TD to really stress the Rams. I don't have a problem with any of that in terms of approach and I don't think Payton should be expected to anticipate a horrible throw by Brees on a short pass to a wide open receiver.

It was the coaching decision before that that I thought was out of character and questionable. McVay really surprised me and I absolutely disagreed with his decision to take the FG attempt from the one yard line on 4th down. With the amount of time left and the way the game was going, I thought that was a big mistake and in most cases it would have cost the Rams the game. It seemed very out of character and very non aggressive. Really thought he would play to win but it was Mike Martz vs. the Panthers all over again IMO. It worked out but it was pure, miracle intervention why.
