I'm just comparing Goff to himself -what Goff showed up until the Bears game. Something has been off since then...
I dunno if it's physical or cerebral
(tho kinda leaning to cerebral/psychological factors. imo) but there is a confidence in his throws that is
missing. It used to never happen on any throw until the Bears game...then, I've seen what I've interpreted as a lack of confidence...and his throws have been far less accurate. imo
Now, that "confidence"
has started to come back more & more in the last 4 games...with his poor throws decreasing...I'm feeling better that he's working thru his inner slump
(which is a natural part of sports that only the player can workthru and rise above. imo). He's having less bad throws and having more throws that were his constant in the first half of the season. The onset of the running game gave him a breather and the chance to work thru it without all the pressure on him. He was fearless against the Saints the first time...then the Chiefs...he HAD that missing confidence then...and I'm hoping he's getting thru it and will be himself again - his true self he displayed until the bears game and last year...and will exorcise his
passing demons. I think he's starting to work thru it these last 3 games...we'll see how it shakes out on Sunday.
btw -
It's a hard thing to talk about cuz it's just a
feeling I'm getting...so it's a lot of intuition on my part and hard to argue/talk about.
