But I think they thing you miss in these discussions is that the Rams have a season ticket base of about 65,000 and was trending up coming into this season
The playoff tickets went on sale the Tuesday after the Rams clinched against the Lions... approximately 70K tickets were sold prior to week 15 of the season and a month before the Cowboys game.
The Rams season ticket holders sold their tickets to Cowboy fans. Season ticket holders have first dibs to match their season ticket totals plus up to 4 more tickets.
People sold their tickets and that happened after it was established that we would be playing Dallas. A similar situation would have happened with the Bears
With the way season tickets sales work Ram fans always have first rights to purchase tickets. For a regular season game that can be problematic as Packers, Cowboys, Bears fans have plenty of time to purchase tickets because the selling period is longer and begins in April when the schedule comes out. Its more difficult for the playoffs because there is less time but despite that the Cowboys still had roughly 35% of the fans there. Based on what we know about the sale of playoff tickets by the second week in December its obvious that many of the sales had come from Rams season ticket holders who purchased those tickets way back in December.
This is not debatable.
