to be the waterboy right now.. He's jus taking up a roster spot right now.. surely there's someone on the street who'd be a better CB?
... that apparently the Rams don't have a backup DB who can do better than Peters has done.
The guy has ranged from mediocre to terrible almost all year. Disappointing that Troy Hill (who I once saw as an up-and-comer) or Sam Shields hasn't taken that starting spot. (Truth is that Hil has been lit up at times, and Shields has been roughed up too.)
Coming into this year it looked like we had serious starting talent AND depth at CB. Looks very different now.
Btw: Talib is obviously the least of our problems at CB - and in fact can be a legit starter on a championship team. But can we also agree that HE doesn't look like a "shutdown" corner? A good one? Sure. Pro bowl quality? Not that I can see. Maybe he hasn't fully recovered and the best is yet to come w/him. But, really, Johnson and Robey-Coleman are the only members of that secondary who haven't disappointed this year. And given the too-often sad state of our pass rush - and yesterday wasn't what I hoped for in that regard - that's a real problem.
