I can't think of a single situation where Austin came off as a "diva." Everything else that you mentioned (purely related to talent) was accurate.
But as far as his attitude...I never once heard him gripe about coaches or teammates (even when he "fumbled" away his PR duties and was phased out of the offense) and seemed to give it his all when he played. Never read about him getting into trouble or embarrassing the organization. I'm sure that he tried to improve upon his route-running, pass catching, and ball security, but a lack of talent will only take you so far.
Did he deserve that extension he got?
Nope.
But he's not the only player who got something he didn't deserve.
