I can't remember a season, other than dieter brock in 1985, where a QB went from good all the time to medocre/bad to finish the season....(always 'heard' Dieter tore something in his shoulder). If you watch the last 6 games, before the playoffs, Dieter played well.
Brock was not good because the offense were running in 1985 was archaic to post the lease. Brock talked about that on a podcast, that they really just ran the ball and had no semblance of a passing game, however, if Brock could have completed a simple slant pattern to Ron Brown, that game could have been different.
Goff needs the running game in order for the play action to work, you can't turn the ball over. Hit the TE's and run some different things at them and the Bears can be beaten. Can't fear them, take it to them. 2nd against the run, great, you still have to pound it, in order to set up other plays and if Gurley is healthy, having Anderson & Gurley could set up Goff, to where he's not uncomfortable in the pocket.
