I have heard it mentioned at least once... regardless and I hope I don't keep saying this every week. The Rams go as the OL goes. If they protect Goff they are going to win most games. If not Goff is going to struggle and the game comes down to "how the ball bounces" a bit more.
Not sure why people are on Goff though. I mean he is who he is right now. Young QB, learning. I think he's doing the best he can. Most QB's struggle when pressured. He made a poor decision to try to throw the ball when he got his foot stepped on. But he also stood in and took some hits getting the ball out. He's been playing so long now without really getting much pressure that I think he might be a bit rattled.
He is definitely not sharp though. Not sure if he is rushing his throws. Just not enough experience right now it seems. I hope he can learn to make good decisions despite the pressure. But if the OL can give him lots of time to throw he'll be back to his old self.
The defense on the other hand... Puke....
This has been the least enjoyable winning season I have ever watched. The defense just ruins every game for me. I am praying that Wade is playing so passive because his plan is to unleash hell in the playoffs and he doesn't want to tip his hand. THAT would make the most sense. Hard to believe that Brockers, Suh and Fowler can't get to the QB... especially when Donald is drawing consistent double teams. What I had envisioned before the season and what the reality is... complete opposites. That defense is hard to watch... many times even when the Rams win I'm left feeling like they lost because they are just sooo weak on defense.
