Looks like Watkins' foot troubles have sprung up again. He's missed the last two games and is not expected back before the playoffs.
Chiefs signed the always under-performing Kelvin Benjamin to replace him (this guy hasn't ever come close to expectations). One under performer replacing another.
Seems like the Rams really dodged a bullet by refusing to pay his price. Yeah, it cost us a high draft pick. But for about the same money we get a 25 year old super fast, excellent hands, great route running, accomplished WR who stays healthy (knock on wood) and has just compiled his 4th 1000 yard season in a row.....with 4 games to play. I imagine he'll finish in the 1300 yard range this year.
Sometimes you can just see the writing on the wall. But often it takes some pragmatism and cajones to act upon it.
Watkins is not a bust. But he is also not a dominant or even excellent WR.....but he's being paid like a Superstar. That can really come back to haunt a team.
