Re: True to a point. But, yes, the difference is Wilson

Wilson is by no means the "new running QB" that the media talks about all the time. He is a completely unique animal. He can do things that other "running QBs" can't do.....such as stay healthy. He is so darn smart and accurate. You could make a highlight reel of him running AND passing.

Wilson is one of those guys you stumble across; you don't plan for him. Looking for another one is like looking for another Hope diamond. Good luck.

And BTW: just as teams hope to find another Wilson (Mayfield?) they're also looking for another McVay. The Titans thought they got one in LeFleur. Nope.

I agree with every word you say about Wilson, with this one qualifier---Carroll and the Seattle GM knew what they were getting in him.

Anyway. I think most people are aware that a McVay is about as common as a Wilson. Mostly the idea is, this is an era when you want a passing game oriented offensive head coach. But there are all sorts of ways to do that. For example another coaching hire model out there is Reid.

A few weeks back, while surveying NFL decision-makers for our list of 2019 head-coach candidates, two names kept coming up first: Josh McDaniels and, if available, McCarthy.
