MVP.

He should be any way but will be impossible not to give it to him.

AD is on pace for 22 sacks. Which obviously means he could break Strahan's record of 22.5.

Mahomes is on pace to tie Manning's record of 55 TD passes. Obviously, he could break that record.

And Mahomes isn't even considered the frontrunner right now! That would be Brees.

"An all-time great like Drew Brees wins first MVP" - great story. 75% completion rate, 10/1 TD/Int ratio, team w/great record. Yeah, he's worthy.

"Second-year QB sets single season TD record, wins MVP" - great story. 41 TD passes and counting, team w/great record carried by its O. Worthy.

Unless Mahomes falls short and Brees stumbles a bit down the stretch, I don't see AD winning it. In a year without record-setting QB play, yeah, AD at 20+ sacks + all the TO's gets in.

As it is, AD needs to push beyond 20 sacks, might need to set that record; Mahomes needs to fall short of the TD record; and Brees would have to stumble.

Ummmmm...

What if Goff finishes strong, blows through the playoffs, and wins the SB? Maybe the MVP of a terrific SB? What then?
