He won't catch Mahomes in TD passes and probably not Brees either. But even if they stumble a bit, he just doesn't have any signature regular season games left in which to make his case.
The Saints and Chiefs games are behind him. His unworldly game against MN could have been one if MN had played to expectations, but they're 6-5-1. Philly was expected to be that, but they're 6-6 IF they win tonight.
Chicago's the only winning team left for the Rams... if they were going into Soldier's Field in game #16 w/a chance to clinch home field throughout and Goff came up huge - THAT'S the kind of effort that might weigh heavily on voters. As it is...
One thing that's really too bad for Goff: Gurley gets a LOT of scoring opportunities that become passing touchdowns elsewhere. I remember watching PManning in his 50+ TD seasons and thinking, DAG, they'd thrown it 3 (or 4!) times on 1st-and-goal from the 1 to pad those QB TD stats. The Rams obviously haven't done that.
