Paraphrasing... He said, it all comes down to match-ups. And right now in the NFC side of the equation he thinks only the Saints, Seattle and the Cowboys would give the Rams problems because they run the ball really well. He said our D plays well enough to win but we will struggle against power running teams.
Rams need to shore things in the run game the rest of the way because we could end up playing one of those teams in the playoffs. He said if we match up with Seattle again it gonna be hard to beat them three times.
I agree with Pat.... Its all about match-ups.
Honest to goodness, I find that standard bit of illogic annoying.
If you know the Rams and Seattle are gonna play three times, then, yes, it's fair to say the Rams probably won't win all three.
But it's not going to be particularly hard to beat them three times when the Rams ALREADY beat them TWICE.
It's the difference between beating a team 3 times in a row, prospectively, and beating them just once.
All that said, I also agree that Seattle is one of the tougher matchups the Rams could face: a division rival; the ones the Rams have taken the mantle from; losers of two close ones, so they surely think they can beat the Rams; very strong run game, good receivers, fantastic QB...
