While this is a passing league, it seems like the good teams are in running mode...meaning they run the ball 30+ times a game.

If you cannot rush the ball in this league, you are likely going to lose...and get you're QB hurt. The exception to that rule is if you have a prolific set of receivers...even then you'll find they run effectively and in the mid 20's.
But we know that it doesn't matter what a QB has around them, right? Or even what system they are in. None of that matters because a No. 2 draft choice will transcend all of those circumstances.
I agree with you, JM; I'm just giving an example of some of the bad reasoning that we heard from media and fans after Goff's rookie year in which he only played seven games.
I love a little irony now and then, especially when masses of people look foolish. The media is on board this year, but it was fun watching and listening to them scramble last year.
