This was yet another terribly officiated game. Some of it, no doubt, has to do with the refs trying to enforce things the way the League wants it.
Take the Littleton roughing the passer call for instance. He is blocked to the ground, his momentum takes him to the feet of the QB, and all he does is to reach up and grab Wilson around the ankle and calf. Absolutely no force applied. What is a player supposed to do? Just quit playing once he's blocked to the ground at the feet of the QB?
Then we have the no-call for grounding against Wilson. That was terrible. Even the TV referee was blunt that this was clearly grounding, just as anyone with eyes could see. About the only person who saw no grounding was the head ref.
Then there was a close up of Fowler with the O players hand halfway down inside Fowler's jersey, stretching the jersey almost to the breaking point, and still no foul. Fowler protests too much, and boom; unsportsmanlike.
Suh and Donald were held all game long and NO calls. No wonder Suh got frustrated and why Donald finally went bonkers at the end when Brit blind sided him 5 yards out of bounds.
Refs have to do a better job of this; and the rules about how to take a QB down have to become more doable and reasonable. Especially for a running QB like Wilson.
I'm not excusing Rams players; I'm saying that if the Refs refuse to call these sorts of obvious fouls, it leads to personal fouls and fights.
