My Brother was a VERY minimal NFL fan (NFL lost him after the 1982 strike) My Brother knew how passionate I was about my Rams. He knew what the Niners game meant. We would CONSTANTLY go to and watch Gator games together but he usually passed when it came to NFL. Going into the Niners game, everyone saw the Rams were on a roll but THAT was THE game everyone said the Rams had to win (Even Jacksonville sports outlets). That day, I got to the bar early..about 11:30 AM for the 1PM EST start. LOL I like to eat BEFORE big games. Food does not settle with me during big games! Anyway.....The night before, I invited my Brother to join me for the Rams game. He sounded not overly enthused. Back to game day....I had already finished my lunch and was getting primed with a pitcher of beer. The game was starting in seconds and Kenneth still was not there. I figured he was a no show and understood why. WELL......He was behind because he had to make a stop before getting to the bar. I was glad to see him. As soon as he sat, he showed me a cigar in a plastic case. It was a simple cigar in a simple case that looked like a tooth brush holder. I knew he smoked cigarettes but I did not think he smoked cigars. He then said........."See this?? It's gonna be yours after the Rams win the Super Bowl." He said....."I feel it. It's the Rams year." He noted how I had paid my dues as a fan. And that was the end of the cigar talk. We watched the Rams beat the Niners and had a great time. To be honest, I forgot all about the cigar. Fast forward a few months....Rams win the Super Bowl and my Brother hands me the cigar and simply said........"What did I tell you?" I will NEVER EVER get rid of that cigar.
