Re: Rams YTD injuries per Pro Football Reference

This is not as bad as other years since 2006.

If you have to have a lot of injuries, spread them all over the different units.

The injuries that are harder to cope with compromise a key unit. Like in 2011 when they lost 10 CBs (yes, 10. Some teams don't even carry 10 CBs in training camp.) Or in 2007 when by game 3 they actually had 10 position changes on the OL (and after that in the next few games it got worse). Or from 2012-2015 when they had both a starting caliber qb and a relatively healthy OL in only 15 of 64 games. (Unless you count Keenum as a starting caliber qb in which case it's 19 of 64 games).

I suppose you can reach a point where you have so many replacements up and down the roster that it starts to compromise team play.

But this is nothing like having to play 9 different guys at LOT + LOG + OC in 8 games (see the first 8 games of 2012). That has an effect.

This situation is more like, all teams have injuries. An entire unit has not been damaged to the point where it has an effect on team play.
