I'm still working thru this concussion stuff: let me run this by you and let me know what you think.

As I understand the protocol a player can't return to the field until they completely recover from their concussion. And 'completely recovered' means that they are totally back to where they were before the concussion as determined by whatever baseline tests they administer. They don't return when they're capable, or 90%: they return when they have recovered.

Now, is it possible that they are deemed to be recovered when they're really not? I guess that is a risk, but it is a risk that the NFL is bending over backwards to avoid.

Assuming that they get this right and Kupp and Cooks are indeed fully recovered from their concussions they would not be at any additional risk for a concussion this week than they would be a year from now. (That is all 'as I understand it')

If they get it wrong would waiting another week make it OK to play?
