I think you're right--not a big THREAT as such, and "shot across the bow" seems a bit strong.

However, this move does signal not just to Peters but to the DB group that things are not right at the moment.

And you know if my aging grey cells have this right, Peters is looking for a big pay day after this year, with the Rams or someone else. Currently, he is not giving them reason to extend him as they have other stars on the roster.

We have not solved the DB problem. A major disappointment so far.
