Kind of makes you think about the "history" and identity of the Rams, huh? I mean, the '60's and '70's sort of cemented them as more of Defense first, run first, conservative offense type of identity and I could see that influencing a decision to go with Allen but historically, the Rams were the Razzle-Dazzle, innovative, exciting, high-scoring team that had actually been to and won championships that way.
This franchise has long continued the former though. Knox, Allen, Knox II, Malavasi, Robinson, Spagnuolo, Fisher...gound and pound and defense for the most part of 50 years. How did that become the imprint when the team never actually won anything that way? SO glad McVay is here and hopefully the long continued return of the Rams true roots.
