I had this discussion with people near the end of last season.
Strategically, I believe a great team (and the Rams are great) needs to look beyond JUST winning the division.
HFA is CRUCIAL to playoff success.
Without it, a division title is just kind of like a participation trophy.
So, yeah, we need to win this game.
And, by the way, winning this game HELPS to win the division. It's not like college where non-conference games have no effect on conference standings.
Agree Sag. In addition, in my view EVERY game is a must win. There are only 16 games in the season. One misstep can keep you out of the playoffs or make you go on the road for the playoffs. Yes, I think the Rams a pretty much a shoo-in for the division but the goal is HFA throughout.
Just because it's early in the season doesn't mean this game carries any less importance than games later in the season.
