This Is What Will Really Hurt The NFL

September 25, 2018 02:28PM
In a couple of years the NFL contract with the Players Association will be up for negotiation. As of now, the players seem to be prepared to make serious demands which, if agreed to by the NFL, will significantly change the game as we know it. And the owners seem to be preparing to dig in and defend the game as it is. I predict there will be a major impasse that will not be solved for a long time. Meaning there will be a player strike and either a shortened season or no season at all! Just my opinion...

With all the talk on this board about how the NFL is suffering from a lack of fan interest, I believe the biggest threat to the NFL is the above-mentioned labor dispute. When it is finally solved, it will be evident that many of today's football fans will have discovered that they can enjoy life just fine without watching pro football on Sundays.
