Where is the right line between aggressiveness and foolishness.
The last kickoff we received should never have been returned. At that point we are playing a field position game and with out punter even if you don't gain a yard you would set them back to the 30. We didn't really need the upside of a low risk return at that point as it was not worth the downside risk.
Now on the other returns taken out of the end zone I would love to see the math to help determine if the aggressiveness is warranted or not. Seems that we should be able to know those numbers. I would even accept factoring in the opponents skill at coverage into the analysis. But you sure would like to know what the numbers say.
Anyway there is always something to complain about if you look hard enough. The Special teams did block a punt and score a TD so that was great but it sure looks like they could clean up the kickoff return decisions.
