First, blaming Snead, or his “inexperience”, about trading away Quinn seems unfair. That Quinn trade, and the Ogletree trade as well, for that matter, were fully endorsed by Wade and McVay, without a doubt. Neither player was a scheme fit and both players were big cap hits. Talib and Peters were not only made possible by offloading Quinn and Tree, but are vastly more important in Wade’s D. It’s really that simple. I thought it was a no brainer, actually.

Now, nobody has noticed our disappointing lack of edge rush more than yours truly. But even so this ‘18 D has been tough to run, pass, or score against. Isn’t that the name of the game? I remain hopeful that one or more players yet develop into a significant edge rush threat. Maybe Obo can yet fill such a role?

We are blessed with an amazing O and ST combo. We survived 2 turnovers, a missed FG, an out of bounds kickoff, and the loss of TWO Pro Bowl CB’s to win by 12 against a pretty darned good Charger team.

So, I think we can survive this current underachieving OLB situation. We do have some of the finest asst coaches in the league, after all.

Worst case is that they address the position next offseason.
