In fact, it's not clear at all that these rankings represent anything other than how this writer feels about a given QB today.
Some guys had bad games in week 1, but that's ok, because we know they're good.
Other guys, like Mahomes, had a good day, but rank up because the writer believes in their potential.
Other guys, like JimmyG, had a terrible day, but there are excuses so that doesn't count.
Other guys have a very good historical track record but are suddenly downrated because they had a bad day in week 1.
It's not consistent at all.
Are his rankings based on a entire body of work? Then why the H___ is a guy like Mahomes up there?
Is it just about this year? Then some of the vets who had a bad day should be lower.
It's fine, the writer can do whatever he wants, it's his column.
But without any clarity or consistency for how the judgments are being made, it's a bit of a mess.
