I don't know how the signing bonus is distributed. There are all sorts of fancy ways to handle that. I don't know when he gets it (you can delay giving a player a signing bonus) and I don't know how it is factored into the cap.

So that's just a separate question. We will need to see how they structured it to get that part.

But it is true that you can't say it's 7 years, 143 M. It's one (now restructured) rookie contract that ends after 2018. Then a new, 2nd contract that starts in 2019 and averages 22.5 M.
