Reading that entire article, McVay makes it clear that Whitworth and Sullivan are NOT going to play; however Goff is.
And further that because his Oline subs have acquitted themselves well so far, he is not afraid to play Goff behind Noteboom as the LT and probably Blythe at Center.
Let's hope that McVay's confidence at LT especially is not misplaced. I like Noteboom; but is he really ready to protect Goff's blindside? Gulp.
If Whit goes down during the season, that's what is gonna happen anyway. Might as well find out now if you're prepared for that. If Notebloom isn't up to the task and miserably fails, McVay can always pull Goff early.
I'm with McVay in leaning towards preventing injury but no need to go overboard with it.
