Tree turned out to not be a fit in Wade's defense. But it's hard to say that his contract was out of line since another team was willing to take on his contract.

Some on this board have opined that the Rams paid the lion's share of Tree's contract before shipping him off but that doesn't appear to be true. Check this link [overthecap.com]

It appears that Tree cost the Rams $11M for one year.

And it appears that Tree will cost the Giants $31M plus two picks for 3 years. (Depending on the dollar value one places on draft picks the Giants might actually be paying more for Tree on a per year basis than the Rams did.)

As for Tavon, he was signed by the Demoff-Snead-Fisher team, not the Demoff-Snead-McVay team. Personally I can't blame Team 2 for Team 1's mistake.
