I see no purpose in continuing pre-season games.

And increasingly, teams don't either.

Someone mentioned money. But how much money can there be in PS games? And couldn't it be replaced by a couple of real games?

Th problem is that teams must risk player health in games that count for nothing. Lots or risk for no real gain.

Player development and assessment can be done other ways. Dump the games and add, say, 2 weeks to camp. Add a couple of season games if necessary.
