We DON'T know. It's true.
But notice how many people will respond to this from the point of view of set assumptions they think are true (in spite of not knowing). So one running theme will be that somehow the agent or player "got straightened out." When (since we don't know) it's just as possible that the Rams "woke up" and changed their tune. Or, it's just as possible that it was never as bad as people wanted to believe it was (that's my bet).
