I am pessimistic for the NFL's future. I believe there will be a player strike when the current labor contract runs out in a few years. I believe the owners and players will make their demands and stand their grounds and there's a good chance there will not be a pro football season that year. I believe that when the dust finally settles after the strike, fan interest in the NFL will have taken a big hit. I believe that ticket prices will be so high that middle class fans like myself will no longer go to games. I believe that all the aforementioned will result in sharply lower TV ratings in many markets and acres of empty seats in many NFL stadiums.
