If Donald doesn't report by Aug 7 he will be a restricted free agent next year, giving the Rams the right to match any offer he gets. If the Rams place a first round tender on AD (and why wouldn't they?) the Rams would get a 1st round pick from whoever AD signs with ... assuming the Rams don't match the offer. This increases the cost to the 'new' team which might diminish how much they'd be willing to offer AD.
If he reports by Aug 7 he will be an unrestricted agent next year.
He'll be in camp on or before Aug 7. Bank it.
