I mean, as ZN has pointed out, NO ONE knows what has been occurring as both sides have been tight-lipped. I don't believe that I've EVER heard anything (public statements or leaks) from Donald's camp. And the Rams have been consistent in saying that "they're in talks;" or that they want to make Donald "one of" or "THE" highest paid defender in the league. But neither side has attempted to apply any type of pressure to the other.
So, if this tweet is accurate, it would represent a break from what both parties have been practicing.
So, what would be the rationale from either side leaking this to LaCanfora if it wasn't true.

Well LaConfora says, Donald has been saying that to people he knows.
So...if he did say it, then, ships are leaky and it found it's way to LaConfora.
Is it true? Hard to say because first it might not be, and second it might be...but then in spite of the possibilty that AD thinks that and said it and it traveled to LaConfora,. the situation could suddenly change. So who knows.
But it is a speck of light.
