He did not stand out to me last year as a liability by any means. I don't think he's a finished product as a player.

Jamon is a solid G and will only get better this season.

Rams have too many really good players to sign in the next couple of years to pay much more than minimum wage to an average player that won't be hard to replace with someone about as good.
I think he will get better and won't just be average BUT you're right you can't pay everyone. A study Pasquarelli did once shows that in the era of the cap and free agency teams on average lose 3 OL every 2 years. That just happens. With Saffold up, and Hav up, and AW and JS aging, they can't afford to pay a young right guard who is not going to be stellar. When it comes to that I think they would be better off keeping Saffold.

Jamon is more than a good enough guard. If they can re-sign him at a friendly number, it is a good thing.
Anyway yeah I doubt they keep him. He can be good and even better than average but he's not going to be stellar, and within a couple of years they may have to replace every single lineman. Do you put resources into Brown as part of your future? Paying Brown would cut back on the budget for the OL and I just don't think he's the kind of player you do that with. That probably means he comes of age and does well with another team but that's the way of OL building in the cap/free agency era.
