not to me.
first off it would be nearly impossible to have all teams keep quiet. second, the goal is to win. nfl teams have demonstrated time and again they will hire anyone who can help them win. third, the rams just got Male cheerleaders. While some owners may object do you really think ktoenke cares about a few guys not standing for the anthem. it seems he may be a bit more progressive. finally, if the rams knew the safety market would be depressed, it is literally stupid to franchise joyner. in this market, they could have assuredly signed him for less 11 miller per ( i think that was the number) AND likely kept watkins AND their first rounder. nope. not buying it. the more logical reason that im making up at the keyboard (like all of these other rumors arnet) is that there was an influx of a very good safety rookie class (ie, cheap labor) that have made some of the veterans expendable.
